Robert D. Erney Elected President of the Columbus Bar Association

Columbus, Ohio – Robert D. Erney, founder of Erney Law, a Columbus-based law firm focusing on plaintiffs’ personal injury, has been elected President of the Columbus Bar Association for 2020 – 2021.

The Columbus Bar Association, founded in 1869, is the oldest bar association in the State of Ohio. It is a diverse community of nearly 5,000 central Ohio legal professionals. The Columbus Bar Association strives to be the leader in providing excellent, innovative and cost effective services to members of the legal profession and general public throughout central Ohio.

Through the active involvement of a broad and diverse membership, the Columbus Bar Association focuses on professionalism, education, advocacy, and community service in order to advance the justice system for all.

Mr. Erney explained “The Columbus Bar Association exists to serve its members. We provide the tools and resources to help our members succeed in the practice of law. We make better lawyers.” The Columbus Bar Association is 151 years old.

“Serving as the 130th President of the Columbus Bar Association is one of the greatest honors of my professional life,” said Mr. Erney. “I will do everything I can to help assure that the Columbus Bar Association remains one of the finest bar associations in the country.”

Mr. Erney started his private law practice, Erney Law, on July 1, 1998. The firm is located at 1654 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43203. He has a general civil tort practice in the fields of personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, premises liability, and pharmaceutical liability. He represents injured victims in all Ohio and Federal Courts.

Mr. Erney’s daughter, Mary Erney, is an associate attorney with the firm. Mr. Erney is also a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio Bar State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Ohio Association for Justice, Central Ohio Association for Justice, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Erney is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law, with an undergraduate degree from Ohio Dominican University. More information is available on the firm’s website at.
